What's new

Every version, newest first. The app offers updates by itself.

  1. 2.4.0

The apps wear the new brand

    • Mac and Windows now look like the website: warm paper, ink, the yellow marker and ballpoint blue.
    • A new app icon and menu bar mark, drawn like a highlighter z.
    • The popup, the welcome guide, Settings and About use the new colours in light and dark. The spoken word is still marked in yellow.
  2. 2.3.0

Welcome guide, updates from inside the app, Swedish and English

    • A short welcome on first start walks through the shortcut, the permissions and a first try.
    • The app tells you when a new version is out and installs it for you. No more downloading by hand.
    • The whole app is in Swedish and English and follows your system language.
    • About and a feedback link in the menu. Windows: a first-start setup, the same welcome and updater.
    • The website: English first, a language menu, a new look, a blog and guides.
  3. 2.2.0

    Tydli is now Zimplfy

    • New name, new mark and a new tagline: Text, made simple. The design is the same.
    • The apps, the installers and the menu bar item are all called Zimplfy.
    • Installing replaces an old Tydli or Rewrite copy. Your settings carry over.
  4. 2.1.0

Rewrite is now Tydli, with a crisp popup

    • The popup is redrawn: an opaque panel, one hairline edge, three text sizes and no blur behind text. Same on Mac and Windows.
    • A brand kit with logo, colours and the Atkinson Hyperlegible Next reading font.
    • The website is redesigned to match.
  5. 2.0.1

    Easier installs

    • Installers now come from GitHub Releases, so every download can be checked against a public release.
    • Mac: a one-line Terminal install that skips the security dialog. Paste it from the download page.
    • Mac: one app for both Intel and Apple Silicon.
  6. 2.0.0

Read aloud, Explain, Summarize and Dictate

    • The shortcut now opens a menu: Rewrite, Explain, Summarize or Read aloud.
    • Read aloud: a natural voice in Swedish or English, with the spoken word marked as you listen.
    • Dictate: hold a key, talk, let go. Clean written text appears where your cursor is.
    • Calm reading: results on a paper background in the reading font, with your own text size.
    • Zimplfy for Windows, and a web reader at /read for phones and locked-down computers.
    • Use your own ElevenLabs key as well as your own Anthropic key.
  7. 1.1.0

Your own key and more shortcuts

    • Enter your own Anthropic API key and pay Anthropic directly.
    • Standing instructions that apply to every rewrite.
    • More shortcuts to choose from: ⌃⌥E, ⌃⌥Space, ⌥⌘R, ⇧⌘E and F19.
    • The app tells you when an update is available.
  8. 1.0.0

    First release

    • Rewrite selected text in any app on Mac with ⌃⌥R.
    • Eight styles, from Fix grammar to Professional to Translate.
    • Free plan with 30 rewrites a day. No account.
